Blackjack and its vast and varied faces!!!

While the searching through the internet can lead you to many different online sites to play blackjack in, blackjack itself has branched out into a series of different games which follow the same strategies and rules as the original. These include the number of decks with which you can play, the amount paid out by the house for winning a game and the rules that apply to doubling, splitting and making side bets on a game.

It is because of the online world of blackjack's many ways of playing, that I will explore and explain some of the most popular and vastly played variations of the game, starting of with Vegas Strip.

Vegas Strip blackjack is held to be the 2nd most popular version of the game, the first being the original 1602 version. It has become so popular in fact, that for the whole month of December facebook is running a Vegas strip tournament in their blackjack application and giving away €5,000 in chips for free to enter. The name Vegas Strip was thought up from the Las Vegas Boulevard's nickname of "the Strip". It is of no surprise that Las Vegas has a blackjack variation game named after it as it is home to some of the world's most famous casinos and resorts.

In Vegas Strip the dealer must always check for blackjack before the players and must stand on all card values over 17. If a player receives two aces and makes the choice to split them, even if they receive a 10 in the next card, their hand would not be considered a blackjack but a 21 total.

A re split of the aces is strictly forbidden in Vegas Strip, and when a split occurs the player is only allowed 1 card per hand.

While it is true that perfect pairs is a blackjack variation whose only distinction from the original blackjack is a side bet. This side bet alone causes a substantial difference, in that it gives players 30 times the payout of what their original bet was. However, there's a catch, in order for the players to win, they have to be brave enough to place the extra side bet on the first two cards being and exact pair.

The variant game pontoon is the British version of the original blackjack game, the main objective of Pontoon blackjack is for the player to beat the dealer with a hand that does not exceed 21. The game is played with 8 decks of 52 cards with the same value as traditional blackjack; the dealer then deals the players two cards face up and himself two cards face down. This is the one difference of pontoon from the original, by having the dealer's cards facing downwards a player's decision are more cautious and uncertain as they have to take into consideration the dealer's hand as well.

Super fan 21 is another appealing blackjack alternative, it is mostly played with one deck of 52 cards and follows the same traditional rules with some unique exceptions. The most interesting of which is that if a player's holds a blackjack in his hand he automatically wins regardless of whether the dealer holds the same hand or not.

Switch is considered as one of the most popular variations of blackjack, the reasons for this is that even though its bonus action would be considered cheating in the traditional game of blackjack; it significantly increases a player's chances of winning by allowing them to switch the second cards between two hands to make the strongest possible hand. In Switch, every player is allowed to make two bets for their individual hands and receives two cards per hand from the dealer.

These are just a few of the games on offer at some of the best blackjack sites online. But just remember, every variation of the game comes with its own set of rules. Check those out first and you'll be sure to make your blackjack experience a success.
